Food Ministry

We regret to inform you that Bell Ministries is no longer a part of the full time food ministry.
Donations have dropped considerably, thus making it very difficult to feed the physically hungry.
We have combined our efforts with that of Mercy Ministries out of Anderson, MO.
Through the efforts of Mercy Ministries,
we will be able to help people in the community get the nourishment that is needed.

Through everything, God still smiles upon His chosen people.
He still loves us each & every day.
And He will still see us through EVERYTHING!
We just need to love Him.

"It All Started With Cereal"

In 2003, Bell Ministries was a "part-time" food ministry.
Mercy Ministries out of Anderson, MO had recieved a large donation of cereal.  With their help, we distributed well over 100 bags of cereal to needy children & their families in the Joplin, MO area.  From there, this mission of food expanded.  In 2004, Bell Ministries went full time in the food ministry.  There have been donations from Kansas, Arkansas, Oklahoma & Missouri.  When folks find out there are people in their neighborhood who are in need of food, they want to help.

In September of 2004, Mercy Ministries was over running with an extremely large donation (a few thousand pounds) of silver dollar pancakes.  They called many ministries including Bell Minsitries to see if they could help store & distribute the food.  Our founder, Elizabeth Smith, felt led by God to enlist the help of Monett, Missouri's 203rd Army National Guard.  Although this isn't something they normally handle, they rose to the occassion in appropriate military conduct & honor just two months after returning home from a 15 month deployment to Iraq.  This sincere "Thank You" was posted on the web site of the
203rd HSC Family Readiness Group.

"On 9-29-04, the Monett Armory (C Co.) helped Bell Ministries to store 310.4 lbs. of pancakes. Word got around very quickly about the food. Within 1 1/2 hours, all the pancakes were given away. We just wanted to say "Thank You!" to SGT Brittain & the rest of the Guards at Monett for helping us. Without their help, those hungry people wouldn't have gotten the much needed assistance & the pancakes could've spoiled for lack of storage space. The 203rd did a wonderful job helping the people of Iraq. And now that they've returned, they did a wonderful job helping the people right at their own front door. Thank you so much! E. Smith."

There have been many people who have helped Bell Ministries take up this cross.
We are truly thankful to all of you.
